QUICK SCONES YUMMY

These quick scones taste best fresh from the oven while still warm but are still delightful later, microwaved for 1 minute on high. This recipe also freezes well. just pop them in ziplock bags and throw them into the deep freeze for easy scone goodness later on!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup cream (Coles thickened cream)
  • 3 cups self-raising flour
  • 1 cup lemonade you can just use home brand version

INSTRUCTIONS:

1 ) Start by preheating your oven to 200 degrees C.

2 ) Measure flour into a large mixing bowl, and pour over cream and lemonade and mix together to form a sticky dough.

3 ) Sprinkle some four onto a flat surface (to prevent dough sticking), then transfer your dough onto it and knead it lightly.

4 ) Flatten the dough into your working surface until it is about 1-1.5-inch thick, then cut with a scone cutter (you can dip it into flour before cutting each time to avoid sticking).

5 ) Place on a lined baking tray and place all following scones together so they touch lightly.

6 ) You can brush the tops with milk if you want to and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden. Serve warm with freshly whipped cream and jam of your choice.
