Huawei Watch GT3 Pro Review

Huawei Watch GT3 Pro Review: Impressive Design and Fitness Tracking

The Huawei Watch GT3 Pro is the latest addition to the highly popular GT series, renowned for its smart wearables. While the GT3 Pro may not bring revolutionary upgrades compared to its predecessor, the GT2 Pro, it still manages to stand out as one of the finest smartwatches available in the market.

After wearing it for several weeks, I can confidently say that the latest Huawei watch is one of the best picks among all the smartwatches I’ve ever used. Its design takes inspiration from the premium Porsche edition of the GT2, while its functionality integrates the latest health-tracking features from the brand.

Moreover, the GT3 Pro introduces a brand-new health tracking feature called ECG tracking, which can be activated and used through the Huawei Health app. In this comprehensive Huawei Watch GT3 Pro Review, we will delve into this watch’s design, build quality, functionality, fitness tracking capabilities, battery life, and more. Design and Build Quality:

The Huawei Watch GT3 Pro boasts an exceptionally premium design and outstanding build quality. The watch’s body is meticulously crafted using titanium metal, offering several advantages over stainless steel watches. Titanium has a lower density, making the watch lighter and more comfortable to wear.

Additionally, it provides superior hardness and corrosion resistance, ensuring its durability over time. The GT3 Pro features a rotatable and clickable crown, reminiscent of traditional watches, which adds a touch of sophistication.

The crown is well-built, and its rotation is accompanied by a delightful and subtle vibration, providing a satisfying user experience. Navigating through the watch’s user interface is a breeze, thanks to the combination of swipes, taps on the round display, and the crown’s functionality.

Just below the crown, there is another button that serves as a shortcut key and also doubles as an electrode for ECG signal collection. By touching the button with a fingertip, a 30-second ECG signal can be collected, and an ECG report can be generated using Huawei’s ECG analysis prompting software.

The global edition of the GT3 Pro offers three different strap options: black silicone, leather, and titanium. While the titanium strap exudes a premium and well-built aura, it may not be the ideal choice for intense sports activities, as it lacks the flexibility and ease of adjustment found in the other two strap variants.

For exercise purposes, the silicone strap remains a personal favorite, while the leather straps are better suited for daily wear. The titanium strap, although impressive, adds some weight to the watch, with the titanium combination weighing over 90 grams in total. However, the weight does not become a significant issue during everyday use.

Moreover, Huawei offers another variant of the GT3 Pro called the ceramic model, which features a slightly smaller 43-millimeter dial and higher pricing. The ceramic model is visually striking, particularly appealing to female users. For the purpose of this review, we will focus on the titanium model, as it shares the same functions as other models within the GT3 Pro series.

Display and User Interface:

The Huawei Watch GT3 Pro sports a 1.43-inch AMOLED round display, which supports the always-on display (AOD) feature. The display is covered with sapphire crystal glass, renowned for its strength and scratch resistance. The round display of the GT3 Pro complements the watch’s design and offers a responsive user interface.

Harmony OS, the operating system running on the GT3 Pro, ensures a smooth and fluid experience, with vibrant graphics and seamless animations. One notable advantage of the watch’s user interface is its compatibility with both Android and iOS devices.

Huawei’s software adaptation allows users to effortlessly pair the watch with their smartphones, regardless of the operating system. The Huawei Health app serves as the hub for accessing various features and customizing the watch’s settings.

One aspect that sets the GT3 Pro apart is the wide selection of watch faces available through the Huawei Health app. Users can choose from a plethora of designs, ranging from informative watch faces displaying calories, heart rate, steps, and other key details, to interactive ones that allow direct access to specific features by tapping on icons.

These watch faces add a personalized touch and enhance the overall user experience. Additionally, the notification features have received an upgrade, enabling users to set predefined responses to text messages. While responding to messages with free input may not be practical on a smartwatch, the option to send quick and simple replies can be handy in certain situations. Check out its latest price here>>

Voice Assistance and Connectivity :

The Huawei Watch GT3 Pro, like many other smartwatches, does not offer a fully functional voice assistant. However, it does provide limited voice commands and features a loudspeaker and microphone, enabling users to make phone calls directly from the watch.

Furthermore, the watch supports the transfer of music and sound files, which can be stored locally on the watch’s storage. Although Huawei has not specified the exact storage capacity, information obtained from the Huawei Health app suggests that it likely offers 32 gigabytes of local storage, providing ample space for music and the installation of third-party apps.

It is worth noting that the number of supported third-party apps may vary depending on the region. During the review period, the available options met my requirements, such as app navigation and various fitness assistants. However, it is important to keep in mind that the app availability can differ based on geographical location.

Fitness and Health Tracking:

Undoubtedly, one of the Huawei Watch GT3 Pro’s most impressive features lies in its fitness and health-tracking capabilities. It comes equipped with a comprehensive set of sensors, including optical heart rate, blood oxygen tracking, gyroscope, GPS, accelerometer, barometer, and magnetometer.

The heart rate sensor has undergone an upgrade from its predecessor, delivering improved accuracy and responsiveness. During my testing, I found the heart rate monitoring to be highly reliable, providing accurate readings during various activities.

The GT3 Pro excels in its waterproof performance, with an IP68 and 5 ATM rating, enabling users to dive up to 30 meters deep without any issues. Whether you’re swimming or engaging in other water-related activities, the watch maintains its functionality and accuracy.

Furthermore, the Huawei Watch GT3 Pro supports over 100 sport modes, covering a wide range of activities, such as running, cycling, swimming, golfing, and climbing. The watch intelligently evaluates your training effort and intensity, providing a rich running index and professional advice to help you improve your training quality. The watch’s comprehensive fitness tracking capabilities make it an excellent companion for leading a healthier lifestyle.

ECG Feature:

The GT3 Pro introduces the ECG tracking feature, although its availability is currently limited to selected regions. By activating the feature through the Huawei Health app, users can collect a 30-second ECG signal by touching the electrode button on the watch.

Real-time analysis of the ECG results, identification of abnormal heart-related symptoms, and reminders of such conditions are included in the watch’s functionality. In regions like China, users can access professional ECG interpretation reports, which are analyzed by collaborating professional doctors. The ECG feature has incredible potential and can provide valuable insights into heart health.

It is worth mentioning that while the ECG feature can be enabled outside of China, the analysis reports are primarily available in Chinese. For users in non-Chinese-speaking regions, translation software may be necessary to understand the reports fully.

Battery Life:

The Huawei Watch GT3 Pro impresses with its exceptional battery life. During my usage, I found that the watch could easily last over a week even with heavy use, and it could remain on standby for up to half a month when certain features were turned off.

The longevity of the battery is commendable, especially considering the watch’s extensive set of features and sensors. Charging the watch is convenient with the included charging dock, and it is also compatible with third-party wireless charging docks. However, it is advisable to ensure a suitable temperature during the charging process for optimal performance.

The Huawei Watch GT3 Pro combines impressive design, outstanding fitness tracking capabilities, and remarkable battery life to create a compelling smartwatch. With its titanium build, the watch exudes a premium feel while maintaining durability.

The harmonious integration with both Android and iOS devices, along with the extensive selection of watch faces in the Huawei Health app, enhances its usability and personalization. The GT3 Pro shines in terms of fitness and health tracking, offering a wide range of sensors and over 100 sport modes.

The addition of the ECG tracking feature, albeit limited to specific regions, further enhances its health-monitoring capabilities. With its impactful hardware and overall user experience, the Huawei Watch GT3 Pro solidifies its position as one of the best smartwatches available, making it an ideal choice for everyday wear and fitness enthusiasts alike.
