Motorola’s Upcoming Razr 40 Ultra Foldable Makes Early Appearance on European Billboards

Razr 40 Ultra Foldable

Sofia, Bulgaria witnesses pre-launch ads ahead of Motorola’s official unveiling event

Motorola is set to unveil its highly anticipated Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra foldable smartphones at an event on June 1. However, it appears that some of Motorola’s subsidiaries couldn’t contain their excitement and have already displayed billboards advertising the Razr 40 Ultra on the streets of Sofia, Bulgaria, in the European Union.

The billboards in Sofia confirm the name of the device once again, showcasing the phone from various angles. Of particular note is the gigantic outer screen, which is expected to be the standout feature of this handset, with no direct competition from other major players like Samsung or Oppo.

Motorola Razr 40 Ultra

While the Razr 40 Ultra will be referred to by that name in most markets, it seems that it will bear the moniker Razr+ in the United States for unknown reasons. Leaks and rumors suggest that the device will boast a 6.9-inch 1080×2400 165 Hz inner screen, as well as a 3.6-inch 165 Hz 1066×1056 outer screen. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, despite it being last year’s SoC, accompanied by 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

On the camera front, users can expect a 12 MP f/1.5 primary snapper with 1.4μm pixels and optical image stabilization. Alongside it sits a 13 MP f/2.2 ultrawide lens with 1.12μm pixels. For selfies, there is a 32 MP front-facing camera housed in a hole punch on the folding screen with an f/2.4 aperture.

Unfortunately, the device’s 3,800 mAh battery is considered underwhelming and may not offer exceptional battery life. The Razr 40 Ultra will support 33W wired charging, with the necessary charger included in the box. It also boasts unspecified wireless charging capabilities.

Pricing details for the Razr 40 Ultra indicate that it will retail for approximately €1,199 in Europe. Consumers will have color options such as Infinity Black, Glacier Blue, and Viva Magenta.

Motorola’s official launch event on June 1 will likely provide additional information about the device, including availability and release dates for different regions. Stay tuned for more updates as Motorola unveils its highly anticipated foldable smartphones.
